Airbnb Turnover Cleaning
PURPOSE
This SOP outlines the standards for Airbnb turnover cleanings to ensure every property is guest-ready, consistent, and professionally maintained between stays.
Our goal is to deliver:
- Hotel-level presentation
- Fast, reliable turnovers
- Consistent quality across all properties
CORE STANDARD
Each property must be left in a condition where:
A new guest can arrive immediately with no visible signs of prior occupancy
SCOPE OF TURNOVER CLEANING
BEDROOMS
- Beds made neatly (hotel-style presentation)
- Linens replaced (if provided)
- Pillows arranged uniformly
- Surfaces dusted and wiped
- Floors vacuumed or cleaned
BATHROOMS
- Fully cleaned and sanitized:
- Toilet (including base and surrounding area)
- Shower/tub (remove soap scum and residue)
- Sink, counters, and fixtures
- Mirrors cleaned streak-free
- Towels replaced (if provided)
- Trash removed
KITCHEN
- Countertops and surfaces cleaned
- Sink scrubbed and polished
- Exterior of all appliances cleaned
- Cabinets spot-cleaned
- Trash removed
APPLIANCES
Refrigerator
- Check for leftover items and dispose if needed
- Interior wipe-down between guests
- Full clean if necessary due to visible mess
Oven
- Light interior check and spot clean if needed
- Exterior cleaned
Heavy interior degreasing is not included unless pre-approved
LIVING AREAS
- Dust all surfaces
- Wipe high-touch areas (remotes, tables, handles)
- Straighten furniture
- Floors vacuumed/mopped
FLOORS (ALL AREAS)
- Full vacuuming
- Thorough mopping of hard floors
- Attention to edges and corners
TRASH & RESET
- Remove all trash
- Replace liners
- Reset space to original layout
LINEN SERVICE (TO BE DEFINED)
- Replace with clean linens provided
OR
- Wash/dry/fold on-site (if agreed)
QUALITY CONTROL
After each turnover, the following photos must be provided:
- Bedroom
- Bathroom
- Kitchen
This ensures consistency and accountability across all properties
TURNOVER TIMING
- Cleanings are often same-day (checkout → check-in)
- Timeliness is critical
- Any delays must be communicated immediately
ISSUE REPORTING
Cleaners will report:
- Damage
- Missing items
- Excessive mess
Promptly after discovery
NOT INCLUDED (UNLESS AGREED)
- Deep cleaning services
- Heavy appliance restoration
- Carpet shampooing
- Biohazard cleaning
